Thanks for stopping by the blog, I hope you have enjoyed what you found here.
I am Clare, a hand knit sock obsessed lover of all things fibre related and the colour grey. I am currently finding my feet in our newly adopted hometown, Edinburgh. We moved to Scotland in 2013 from sunny South Africa and have had a great time settling in. I love that there is lots of yarn to explore and plenty of knitwear wearing opportunities (I will also admit to being very happy that summer is around the corner).
Currently I am dedicating my time to creating gorgeous knitting patterns for those who love socks as much as I do. My love of socks has also been documented in The Knitter recently where I wrote about my passion for sock heels.
When I am not designing I teach a wide range of knitting workshops and can often be found at Ginger Twist Studio in Edinburgh. I have an exciting workshop schedule planned for the rest of 2014, details can be found here, including workshops further afield.
I offer a number of professional services for the knitting sector, including technical editing and layout services. Please contact me for further details.
Hi Clare, you contacted me through Ravelry to use a photo of mine. My father was born in South Africa (Benoni) and I was born in Oranjemund, Namibia although I have been living in Queensland, Australia since 1968. I’ll be following your blog! Cheers, Melanie
Hi. Thanks for getting in touch. I grew up not far from Benoni and recently moved to Scotland. I also spent about eight months working in Brisbane. Hope you enjoy the blog.
