Free UK Shipping on Books for Limited Period

Good morning.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I am looking forward to wrapping up the year and snuggling into some knitting in a few weeks over the holiday period. It has been a fantastic year but my batteries need a little recharge. I hope any preparations you are making for the holiday period are going well.

I have a special offer for the next three days. I will be offering free standard UK shipping on Head to Toe and Sock Anatomy when bought from my shop. I only have limited stock so grab one early if you are keen to get your hands on a copy of my book.

Any books bought from me between 15th and 17th December will be posted using first class recorded mail with the UK.

Sock Anatomy is a collection of nine sock patterns each featuring a different heel technique. This is the perfect resource for learning to knit socks. The book comes with a download code for the ebook. You will also get the adult sizes for these socks as they are released. Two are already available and the rest are coming in early 2015.

Check out all the designs on my Ravelry page.

The book retails for £15 and you get a complimentary ebook.

Head to Toe is a collection of five stunning accessories using Ginger’s Hand Dyed yarn. Each item has been carefully designed to celebrate Jess’ vintage inspired style. The collection transports you on a journey from high summer in Edinburgh, with Montrose and Brunswick to the colder days of winter, with warm snuggly Elgin socks.

Want to see the designs and some other knitter’s projects. Check out the Ravelry pages.

The book retails for £12 and you get a complimentary ebook.

If you want a copy of the book but would prefer just the digital version this can be bought through my Ravelry store.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

Happy Knitting.

Flash Sale: Day 4

At the start of this month I released the warm and snuggly Elgin socks. They were the final installment of the Head to Toe series and are the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. Perfect for keeping your toes warm and toast as you snuggle on the couch under a warm blanket.

Elgin sock_blog_sale-01

It is gloomy and grey in Edinburgh today, and so I thought it would be fitting to feature the Elgin socks as my Socktober discount for today. Use the code “Socktober5” to get 50% off Elgin (£3 to £1.50) until midnight on the 31st of October.

Most sizes can be knitted with 100g of aran weight wool and the pattern is sized from newborn to adult L, so all the family can have warm toes this winter.

Jess from Ginger Twist Studio and I can’t get enough of this pattern and have knitted three pairs between us already. Two pairs in Ginger’s Hand Dyed Humming Aran (a luxurious Alpaca / Merino / Nylon blend) and one adult pair in Brigantia Luxury Aran (a wonderful British wool). I also have another pair on the needles for my toddler in Drops Nepal (wool / Alpaca blend).

What will you knit your Elgin socks in?

Here are some pictures of Elgin to inspire you.

Head to Toe KAL-01-01

Hope you are having a wonderful week. It is pretty chilly in Edinburgh today and it has spurred me on to work on my Elgin socks in lovely squishy Brigantia.

Are you knitting anything from the Head to Toe collection? Come and join us in the “knit-a-long” currently running in the Ravelry group. It is a very relaxed affair, a place for knitting and chatting about knitting. Any pattern from the Head to Toe collection goes and you can use any yarn. There are prizes too, including some gorgeous hand dyed yarn from Ginger Twist Studio and some other exciting goodies.

The group is a friendly place to chat and show off your latest Yarn and Pointy Sticks knitwear. I love to see finished objects (and wips) from my designs.

Have a wonderful week.

Don’t forget about the book launch party this weekend …

The book is being stocked at some lovely local yarn shops in Scotland, and I am very excited to announce that Jess from Ginger Twist Studio and I are hosting a book signing next week on the 11th October at 4pm. Come along to see the samples and have a chat. There will be some bubble and nibbles too. It would be great to see you there.

You can also find the book at Kathy’s Knits in Edinburgh and Fluph in Dundee. It will be available at Queen of Purls in Glasgow soon.

If you would like to buy directly you can purchase the book for £12 plus P&P from my Big Cartel shop.

The ebook can be purchased from my Ravelry page.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy knitting

A little while ago I shared Maryfield with you as part of some exclusive kits I did with Jess from Ginger Twist Studio.

I am excited to announce that this pattern will now form part of the Head to Toe collection and is available to download on Ravelry. If you have already bought the e-book you will be getting an update that allows you to download the pattern.

For a limited time this pattern will be available for £1 with the discount code ‘quid’.

These fabulous cuffs are cute and stylish and knit up in no time. Using only 20 – 30g of yarn. The perfect accessories to glam up your outfit.  Enjoy.

It’s here …

This morning I waited and watched out of the window … eagerly awaiting this …

Yes folks, I have a published book. A real book, with an ISBN and a glossy cover. I am still in shock. It has taken many months of hard work to get here, but I made it. My first published book. I am very very excited.

Head to Toe_box

Head to Toe is a collection of five gorgeous knits, designed by me, featuring Ginger’s Hand Dyed yarn.

Those of you who read the blog regularly will have already seen Montrose, Brunswick and Edina. On the 1st of October I will release the final pattern, Elgin. At the same time I will be launching the e-book and print book.

Originally the collection was four pieces but check back tomorrow for a sneak peak of an exciting fifth design.

What to get your hands on a copy of the print book? Pop over to my Big Cartel shop where you can pre-order your copy. They will be posted on Tuesday as first class mail within the UK, in preparation for the launch on Wednesday. The book costs £12 plus £1.99 P&P (UK).

If you order the print book, you will be sent a download code for the complete collection as a digital copy that can be downloaded on Ravelry (you will receive this within 24 hours of your print order being placed), meaning you can already start knitting your favourite of the three designs that have been released.

Just want an e-book, pop over to the Ravelry store where you can get the full e-book for £10 or pick up a single pattern of your favourite design.

I can’t wait to share the final two with you. Until tomorrow…

Happy knitting,

Good morning,

Today sees the launch of the third pattern in the Head to Toe series. Please welcome Edina to the fold.

The days are starting to shorten and the cooler weather is arriving.
