Strengthen That Heel …

Want your socks to last longer, strengthen your heel flap with one of these stitches.

Heel Stitch

Row 1 (RS): *Sl 1 purlwise, k1; rpt from * to end of row.

Row 2: Sl 1 purlwise, p to end.

This stitch creates beautiful columns of slipped stitches and a dense yet flexible fabric.

If you are looking for something more durable, look no further than the Eye of Partridge. This creates a denser and firmer fabric. You need to pay careful attention to the size of your heel flap when you use this as there is very little ‘give’ in the fabric.
